Tod Ulery
I'm Tod Ulery, owner of the Jewel Box Jewelers. Even when I was younger, I loved helping people. At twenty-two I was an EMT for AMR Ambulance when a friend, Rick Denton, offered me a part-time job at his jewelry store. I soon realized I was much happier helping people pick out their engagement rings than coming on the scene of an accident and helping people in crisis. So when Denton suggested a partnership, I agreed and have been looking forward ever since.
Initially the plan was to open my own store in Campbell on Christmas Eve 1998; however, life intervened from all directions and changed those plans. I'm pretty resilient and determined, so I kept at it and opened Jewel Box Jewelers of Campbell in early January 1999. Then in May 2009, we launched the second store Jewel Box Jewelers of Morgan Hill. I enjoy being involved in the Campbell and Morgan Hill communities; and do what I can to support the fundraising efforts of local schools and organizations.
People who know me will tell you that I have a passion for technology, design, education and service. I keep my eyes open for the new trends and products I know will excite our clients. Even after being recognized by GIA as GI Certified, I continue to learn. From custom design to the latest in jewelry technology, I'm on top of it all.
For me and those behind the counter at both our locations, customer service is key. It's about being there for our clients, building relationships and making certain people feel like they're part of our extended family by going above and beyond for them. More than simply saying the words, I put it into practice. Sometimes, much to the dismay of my grumbling stomach, this means my lunch often sits uneaten while I tend to people in our store. As busy as things may get, once I close up shop, I am always happy to spend time with my family... that would be my wife Tracey, our two sons and the four chickens! I'm sure Tracey told you all about that in her bio. It's always exciting around our place!
I love our clients. I love what I do. I love helping people create the jewelry they've dreamed of. That's why we're here. I look forward to seeing you at our Campbell store... and if I'm not there, I'll see you in Morgan Hill!
