Life always takes such unexpected turns! I basically started as an apprentice; learning the trade from the ground up. Tod, the owner, gave me an opportunity to learn something new and I took the leap. I have always liked the challenge of new things and working with my hands, especially on the details of jewelry, comes very naturally to me.
The atmosphere here is great and really rewarding. There is always something new coming into the shop and that keeps things exciting and definitely keeps me on my toes. I have a real knack for the finishing and engraving work and since these details are like icing on a great cake, it is crucial that they are done just right. A perfect end-product is rewarding in and of itself. I love watching the expression on a client's face when they see the finished piece for the first time. All the hard word pays off with that smile!
I bring my light-hearted nature to the store with me every day. I love to joke, laugh and keep things positive. When not at our Campbell store, you will likely find me working with the youth of San Jose. Some kids have it pretty tough these days and I do what I can to give back during off hours.
With each day I get a bit better in everything I do and one day I would love to earn the title Master Jeweler. Until then, and even after I get there, I'll keep learning. It's all about soaking up knowledge and learning from the talented folks around you like Navarro.
